Scheduling a follow-up appointment during the session ensures continuity of care by allowing you and the patient to collaboratively select a time that works best, reducing the risk of delays in treatment, missed appointments and/or lapses in medication coverage.

How to Schedule Follow-Up Visits for Your Patients During a Session
- Schedule During the Session: While still in your AMD session with the patient, schedule the follow-up appointment live before ending the visit.

Access the Scheduler:
- Click the Home button in AMD.

Select Scheduler from the dropdown menu.

Check Calendar Availability:
- Navigate to the desired date and time on your calendar to confirm availability.

Select the Follow-Up Slot:

Locate and click the Follow-Up Visit Online Scheduling Hold (purple).

Search for the Patient:
- Use the patient’s AMD chart number to search and confirm their identity.
- *The chart number can be found in the Patient Demographics section of the chart.

Alternatively, you can search using the patient’s last name, first name. However, you must verify the patient’s date of birth first and then confirm that the chart number matches.

Confirm Appointment Details:
- Verify that the start and end times for the appointment are correct.

Save the Appointment:
- Click Save to complete the booking.

- The newly scheduled follow-up appointment will appear over the calendar hold and on the patient’s timeline in AMD.
