Viewing your patient's measures surveys in the Rula provider portal

This article covers the various ways to view your patient's measure surveys in the Rula provider portal.

Please Note: Visual updates to Measurement Informed Care results are currently in early testing with select providers. We look forward to releasing these updates to all providers soon and will share further announcements as this feature becomes more widely available. Due to this test, not all providers will have the same visual experience as pictured below.

The Overview Tab

Providers can view a high-level snapshot of Measurement-Informed Care results directly in the Overview tab of the Client Chart. This view is designed to help you quickly assess recent score trends alongside baseline data as you prepare for a session.

The Client Report

In addition to viewing the provider's view of measurement surveys, providers can now access a Client Report directly within the Rula provider portal. This view mirrors exactly what the patient sees in their own portal and was designed to make it easier for providers to review progress collaboratively with patients.

How to View:

  1. In the Rula provider portal Patient Chart, open the Notes and Documents section. Find your active session and click Complete Progress Note to open.
  2. Go to the Measures section of the progress note
  3. Select View Measures

  1. You will see a full measures report for your client appear on the right-hand side of your screen. At the top of this pop-up, click Client report to switch to the patient-facing progress view.

5. Use the tabs for Anxiety and Depression to review the patient’s results across different measure types.

The Client Report tab appears alongside the Provider Report tab, allowing you to toggle seamlessly between clinical and patient perspectives during sessions.

Measurement-Informed Care and Documentation

Measures also integrated into the clinical documentation for the initial assessment and progress notes. If the patient has completed the measurement surveys (e.g., GAD-7, PHQ-9, PROMIS depression parent proxy, QoL etc.) this will be integrated into the “Measures” section of the note.

Please note that the measurement-informed care cadence for Kaiser patients is changing, rolling out in phases between June and July 2026. Kaiser patients will be prompted to complete certain measures (Quality of Life (QoL), Therapeutic Alliance (TA), C-SSRS / Child C-SSRS (Kaiser SoCal ONLY), PHQ/GAD/PROMIS Depression/PROMIS Anxiety (Kaiser NCAL ONLY)) before each visit or once a week, depending on the patients coverage (unless they have already completed one within the last 3 days). Following these rules is a contractual requirement that protects the patient's insurance coverage and enables consistent tracking of their clinical progress.
