Creating appointments in the Rula provider portal

This article provides step-by-step guidance for creating new appointments in the Rula provider portal.

Rula will book all initial appointments for new patients on your calendar. 

It’s best practice to take a few minutes before the end of your session to confirm and/or schedule follow-up appointments with your patient. 

Guided Steps

  1. Log in to the Rula provider portal.
  2. On your Schedule tab, click Create Event in the top right corner OR click directly on the time slot you'd like to schedule the appointment for.
  3. Select the patient from the drop-down
  4. Confirm the date and time
  5. Click Create

Note: Providers do not receive email reminders regarding their appointments. Rula suggests providers routinely log in to the provider portal, check their schedules, and utilize their personal calendars to set reminders.

Creating past appointments

  1. Log in to the Rula provider portal
  2. Visit the Schedule tab
  3. On your Schedule tab, click Create Event in the top right corner OR click directly on the time slot you'd like to schedule the appointment for.
  4. Select the patient from the drop-down
  5. Confirm the date and time
  6. Click Create
    • You will see a note that you are creating an appointment in the past, and this is for documentation accuracy. Patients will not receive a notification for appointments created in the past.
