In this article, we will cover how to review pharmacy requests in DrFirst. Requests will typically be prescription renewal requests, prescription refills, or undeliverable prescriptions. Remember, to get to DrFirst, you have to begin by starting in the Rula provider portal.
Guided Steps
- Log in to the Rula provider portal
- Navigate to the To-Do tab
- Under Prescription notifications, click Pharmacy requests. This will take you out of the portal and into DrFirst in a new tab.
- In this new tab, you'll see all of the pharmacy messages awaiting action.
- For renewal requests, you can take the following action:
- Deny - This denies the request and sends a denial message to the pharmacy.
- Change - This allows you to edit the prescription or change the pharmacy information.
- Renew - This renews the prescription with the desired number of additional refills.
- Forward - This allows you to forward a prescription to another prescriber.
- Remove - This removes the prescription if it is a duplicate request. This is the only time this option should be used.
- You can add any pharmacy notes in the Response notes to the pharmacist box or additional notes for yourself in the Office notes box.
- When you are all set, enter your signature password and click Send.
