Rula uses DrFirst (rcopia) for ePrescribing. Depending on your state, you may be prescribing non-controlled medications only, or controlled substances that require additional identity verification steps.

- Next steps if you get stuck
Before you start, have the following ready:
- A government-issued ID (driver’s license, passport, or state ID)
- A smartphone/ tablet with a camera (for identity verification)
- Access to yoru email (including spam/ junk folders)
Note: If you are located outside the US, you may not be able to complete ePrescribing setup.
- Find your enrollment email
- Search your inbox (and spam/junk) for your enrollment email from: epcs-do-not-reply@drfirst.com
- Open the link and follow the enrollment steps
- If you prescribe controlled substances (EPCS) extra steps will be required, such as:
- Identity proofing verification
- Token registration (OTP/2FA)
- Final activation of controlled substance privileges
- You may receive a message about Logicial Access Control (LAC) near the end of the process (See below)
- If you prescribe non-controlled medications only in many cases, you do not need to log directly into DrFirst to prescribe. To finalize activation:
- Log into the Rula Provider Portal
- Go to Clients/ Patients
- Open any patient chart
- Click Manage Medications
- Helps finalize activation
